YarmiplayTV community rules
Effective 5 October 2026. The app asks you to agree to these rules before you join your first room.
How rooms work
YarmiplayTV joins rooms on Syncplay servers. Those servers are run by other people (the default, syncplay.pl, by the Syncplay project), not by the developer of YarmiplayTV, who runs no servers and can't see or remove anything said in a room.
There are no accounts. Your name in a room is just the name you type when you join, and anyone can rejoin under a different name at any time. Anyone who knows a room's name can join it on that server, so for private viewing pick a room name that's hard to guess, or use your own server with a password.
Rules
- Don't post anything illegal, hateful, harassing or sexual in room chat, and don't share links to such content.
- Don't impersonate other people or pretend to speak for YarmiplayTV, Syncplay, Jellyfin or Plex.
- Only play media you have the right to watch.
If someone bothers you
- Block their name: in the room's list of people, select the block button next to them (on phones, tablets and desktop you can also tap or click one of their chat messages). Their messages, including the ones already shown, are hidden until you leave the room. Because names aren't accounts, someone who rejoins under a new name isn't blocked.
- Hide room chat: "Hide chat" in the chat panel, or turn off Show room chat in Settings. Nobody's chat messages are shown, whatever name they use, until you turn it back on.
- Leave the room: disconnect, or switch to another room.
- Report abuse to the server: the people who run a server are the only ones who can act on what happens on it. For syncplay.pl, see syncplay.pl.
Changes
Changes to these rules are published on this page and in the app's source repository, github.com/Yarmiplay/YarmiplayTV.
